Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PC – Complete Game Review & System Requirements

INTRODUCTION:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, is one of the most legendary titles in gaming history. Released in 2004, this open-world action-adventure game set new standards for freedom, storytelling, and gameplay variety. Even today, nearly two decades later, GTA San Andreas continues to attract players on PC thanks to its timeless design and endless modding possibilities.

In this review, we will take a closer look at the game’s story, features, gameplay mechanics, and PC requirements, while also reflecting on why it still stands tall in the gaming world.

GAME OVERVIEW:

The story of GTA San Andreas centers on Carl "CJ" Johnson, who returns to Los Santos after the death of his mother. On his return, CJ discovers that his family is falling apart, his gang has lost its influence, and corrupt officials dominate the city. Determined to bring his family back together and reclaim lost respect, CJ sets out on a journey that spans across the state of San Andreas, covering three major cities:

Los Santos – inspired by Los Angeles, filled with gangs, crime, and street culture.

San Fierro – based on San Francisco, featuring hills, bridges, and a tech-driven vibe.

Las Venturas – modeled after Las Vegas, known for its casinos, nightclubs, and desert surroundings.

The combination of a gripping storyline and vast map makes San Andreas one of the most ambitious games ever created during its time.

GAME FEATURES:

Massive Open World: Explore cities, countryside, forests, deserts, and beaches.

Immersive Storyline: Follow CJ’s emotional and action-packed journey to power.

Character Customization: Change CJ’s appearance, tattoos, clothes, and even physical fitness.

Variety of Vehicles: Drive cars, ride bikes, pilot airplanes, use boats, and even fly a jetpack.

Gang Wars & Territory Control: Fight rival gangs and expand your influence.

Mini-Games & Side Missions: Try dating, gambling, dancing, police missions, or even becoming a firefighter.

Strong Modding Support: On PC, players can install mods that enhance graphics, add new vehicles, or create entirely new missions.

GTA SAN ANDREAS GAMEPLAY REVIEW:

The gameplay of GTA San Andreas is both diverse and addictive. Unlike its predecessors, San Andreas introduces RPG-style mechanics—CJ’s skills such as stamina, strength, and driving improve over time, making progression feel personal.

Missions vary widely, from stealing cars and engaging in high-speed chases to flying jets, robbing casinos, and infiltrating government facilities. One of the most memorable aspects is the gang war system, where you fight rival gangs to control territories across Los Santos.

Combat is more refined compared to GTA III and Vice City, with better gunplay, melee fighting, and the ability to recruit gang members to fight alongside you. Beyond the missions, the open world offers countless distractions: you can explore gyms, go on dates, gamble in casinos, or simply cause chaos across the cities.

The soundtrack is another highlight, with a wide range of radio stations featuring rap, rock, funk, and classic hits that perfectly capture the ’90s setting.

Even today, the PC version remains highly popular, especially with mods that improve visuals, add realism, and even bring multiplayer through servers like SA-MP (San Andreas Multiplayer).
